Natural gas futures are lower since last contacting you a month ago with primary reasons being: current average seasonal temperatures, forecast for warmer than normal winter, robust production and high gas storage levels. At this time the only resistance to lower prices is strong Liquified Natural Gas exports (and long term commitments) which tempers how low pricing can actually fall. A sudden turn to sustained cold here in the Northeast can change everything.
Electricity pricing is a different story when it comes to fixed rate options. Nationally and in New York State the push for renewable energy continues and for reasons provided in previous Updates, volatility and uncertainty will continue. Simply stated, fixed rates will remain high given current circumstances.
Thanksgiving is here and once again it is a time of reflection on and realization of all the many blessings God has bestowed upon our nation. I thank Him for His never ending blessings and pray that Americans will look to Him for strength and guidance as we navigate through this difficult and changing world.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Regards,
John Thomas
