Summer 2024 is here and it is time to look at electricity and natural gas supply pricing options. A common concern among business owners is knowing when to lock in your rates and for how long. With 25 years experience in electricity and natural gas sales, it is safe to say that it depends on your particular situation and specific business needs and goals.

Hurricane season and summer heat is upon us, along with increasing severe weather events that often dictate natural gas and electricity futures pricing. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) recently predicted above-normal hurricane activity in the Atlantic Basin this summer and should this occur, futures pricing likely will rise as history has shown.

Given current economic and geopolitical uncertainties facing the United States along with above mentioned concerns, now is the time to consider your options. Energy markets can be extremely volatile and have the ability to change course quickly.
