Electricity and natural gas pricing remains very high as we approach winter heating season. With approximately 40% of U.S. electricity generation fueled by high-priced natural gas, we can expect continued high priced electricity rates for the foreseeable future. Consumers will also see very high natural gas heating bills this winter.
Natural gas futures pricing remains high due to concerns about ample storage levels this winter along with lack of increased production to meet our ever-growing exports of liquified natural gas (LNG) to Europe. Demand for LNG is high worldwide and given current circumstances looks to remain that way. Europe is paying very high prices for LNG.
