Today is January 29th, this is our first Update of 2016, hard to believe we are just now contacting you.
Must say January has been uneventful for the most part as unseasonably warm temperatures keep futures pricing stable and low. With forecasts calling for warmer-than-normal temperatures over the next two weeks, taking us into mid-February and closer to winter’s end, it is likely stable pricing will continue. Remember, however, that we are dealing with a commodity and traders can do most anything these days. Nothing is 100% certain, and prices can turn on a dime.
The amount of gas in storage sits at 3.08 trillion cubic feet – 21% higher than year ago, 16% above 5-year average.
2016 is a good year for locking in pricing (24 or 36 months) for both electricity and natural gas. Please contact us with any questions.
